These Ghana Market baskets are strong, durable and colorful. They are handwoven with native grasses and each one is individual and unique. They are a fair trade item and a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of these baskets helps provide healthcare, school fees and community buildings for the weavers and their children. The woven baskets are great for shopping, picnics, home decor and magazine and toy storage.
The woven African baskets in the traditional “round” size range from 14″ to 16″ in diameter. Each one is individual in color combination and pattern. If you have a specific request please let us know and we will try to accommodate as closely as possible.
Baskets will be shipped folded down. Soak them in water to reshape them.
For the early “Sheepherder” in the high Rocky Mountains, the first soft piece of ground available was often their bed for the evening. So to make the bone-chilling nights more bearable, they relied on cozy, plush sheepskin hides to keep them warm. Even if your idea of roughing it is sleeping in a soft bed or sitting curled up in your favorite chair with a crackling fire in the hearth, this patchwork sheepskin quilt is just the ticket. It is made from genuine shearling cut into varying sizes and colors for that old-time patchwork look. One side shows the natural tones of the wool, while the other side is suede with the wool showing on the seams. Whether used for a lap robe on a cold winter day or a bedroom quilt at night, this blanket is a showpiece in any home.

You might see marks on your product. These are not defects or blemishes. They are just part of the natural hide and makes each piece unique.
